A 7 a.m. bomb threat closed a biotechnology building in Berkeley on Wednesday, but office workers were back inside by early afternoon.

The threat targeted the Lawrence National Lab inside the EmeryStation East Building at 5885 Hollis Street, which houses about 1,000 people.

The bomb squad entered the building a few hours after it had been evacuated. Explosive technicians and bomb-sniffing dogs were deployed. No specifics on the nature of the threat were announced, but the all-clear was given at 1 p.m.

Streets opened back up and work resumed.
