Phillip Garrido looks out at the courtroom during his arraignment on 28 felony counts stemming from the abduction of Jaycee Dugard,11, in 1991, in the El Dorado Superior Court in Placerville, Calif., Friday, Aug. 28, 2009.
Convicted kidnapper and rapist Phillip Garrido has left El Dorado County.
The jail sent a notice of the move of the man connected to the infamous child kidnapping of Jaycee Dugard. His wife left earlier this week.
El Dorado County sheriff’s officials said Nancy Garrido wil now spend the next 36 years in Chowchilla.
Phillip Garrido will spend the rest of his life in prison in a segregated cell at Corcoran State Prison in Kings County.
He now presides at California's only protected-housing prison unit, where he joins such high-profile inmates as Charles Manson and Juan Corona. The 14 or so inmates who are in the unit are allowed to interact with one another but would be in danger if they were with the generation population, according to prison officials.
Both plead guilty to kidnapping and raping Dugard and holding her captive for 18 years.
