Several lanes on southbound U.S. Highway 101 in Menlo Park were temporarily closed Thursday evening due to a fire involving a large bus, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fire, which appears to involve a tour bus or similar vehicle, was reported at 6:10 p.m. just north of Willow Road. The driver was treated for smoke inhalation.
The closed lanes sparked heavy traffic that backed up in the area.
No other injuries were reported.
