The victim involved in the fatal Sam Trans bus collision that occurred at 10:32 am at University Avenue and Webster Street has been identified. The Santa Clara County Coroner’s office confirmed the victim’s identity as Sheena Marie Barker, 52 years of age from Cupertino, California. The family has been notified and they have met with police at the scene.

A San Mateo County Transit bus struck and killed a pedestrian, according to a Palo Alto Police statement.
A woman was pronounced dead at the scene on the corner of University Avenue and Webster Street. Her name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The involved bus driver was taken to Kaiser Hospital in Redwood City "due to hypertension as a consequence of the accident," the release states.
The accident is being jointly investigated by the Palo Alto Police Department's Specialized Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team (STAR) and the San Mateo County Sheriff's Transit Bureau, who conducts all accidents involving SAM TRANS buses.
