42 iPads Stolen from Santa Rosa School

A stack of 42 iPads lifted from charter school in Sonoma County.

A Santa Rosa charter school lost 42 iPads in a theft committed by vandals who also broke 50 windows at the school, according to reports.

Sometime over the weekend, Northwest Prep School suffered its third "recent" break-in, according to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat. A Boy Scout troop discovered the damage Sunday morning and called authorities.

No video surveillance of the theft exists, and none of the iPads had tracking software, the newspaper reported.

Windows were smashed with an "unknown tool," and doors to a teachers' lounge and classroom were also forced open during the theft.
