Caldecott Tunnel Fourth Bore Scheduled To Open In November

The fourth bore of the Caldecott Tunnell is scheduled to open next month.

Never has a boring project been more exciting for motorists.

The fourth bore of the Caldecott Tunnel is slated to open Nov. 16, according to Caltrans.

The traffic on Highway 24 can be unkind, but the $417 million project aiming to make drivers' lives easier is sailing through the final stages, according to the Bay Area News Group.

This means that two dedicated lanes of traffic will flow in each direction. Currently, the tunnel's three bores are split, with two going with rush-hour traffic and one against.

This means less traffic in off-hours, transit planners hope.
