The California Republican Party and a Democratic state senator are denouncing an online poster that promoted last week's nationwide "tea parties" as anti-Semitic.

The poster promoted the April 15 rally in San Mateo. It showed a bucket of dollars and coins pouring through a funnel emblazoned with a Star of David. The money was transformed into a pool of blood in which a figure holding a Palestinian flag was drowning.

Wording on the poster said American tax dollars were being used for the "extermination of Palestinian children."

California GOP Chairman Ron Nehring condemned the imagery, blaming it on "fringe" elements. Democratic state Sen. Leland Yee of San Francisco called it "obscene" and demanded an apology.
