California's first Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender studies class is set to launch this Fall at Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts.
Teacher Lyndsey Schlax is still developing the curriculum for the class, which she said will focus a semester on the LGBT communities' history and contributions.
Schlax also is keeping close tabs on the United States Supreme Court's decision on same-sex marriage. The decision will be part of the new course, Schlax said.
