An out-of-control car plowed into a six-unit apartment complex in Santa Rosa late Tuesday night, leaving a gaping hole in a bedroom wall -- and a sleeping man thankful he's alive.

An out-of-control car plowed into a six-unit apartment complex late Tuesday night, leaving a gaping hole in a bedroom wall -- and a sleeping man thankful he's alive.

Santa Rosa firefighters say the man was inside his first-floor apartment bedroom on Sunset Avenue, when a car crashed through the wall at around 11:20 p.m.

Paramedics checked the man out at the scene, and determined he was not injured in the crash.

Three adults and three children are now forced from their homes, while engineers assess the structural damage to the unit.

The driver took off after the crash and is stll at large.
