Police are looking for at least one person suspected of carjacking a Mercedes Benz in Fremont, then sending a woman to the hospital after crashing into four parked cars in Union City Sunday.
Police said that after the Benz was stolen in Fremont, the carjacker drove into the Union Landing Shopping Center just before 1 p.m., where the car veered off the road and the crashed into a tree, then into five cars that were parked in the shopping center parking lot.
A woman was sitting in the first car the Benz collided with. Police said they were not sure how badly she was injured, but that she was airlifted out of the parking lot to be taken to the hospital.
Police said they are still looking for the suspect or suspects who were involved.
