Carjacking Suspect at Large After Allegedly Running Down Victim

A carjacking suspect ran a Millbrae man over with his own car Friday morning before fleeing the scene, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

The victim, a 64-year-old man, told deputies he had left his car running in his driveway near South Ashton Avenue and Millbrae avenues around 8:45 a.m. while he went inside his home to retrieve some forgotten items.

When he returned, he heard a car door slam and saw a man sitting in the driver's seat.

The suspect hit the vehicle with a car, knocking him down and running him over, before fleeing the area.

The victim was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police have since identified the suspect as Antonio Ambriz, 20, a man with acquaintances in Millbrae and Stockton. He is described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 165 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and a short, cropped full beard.

He remains at large, and should be considered dangerous. Anyone who locates him should not approach but immediately call police.

The vehicle is described as a 1991 white Acura Legend with a California license plate of 2WXC542.
