An old hotel is coming down in San Francisco to make way for a brand new hospital.

The California Pacific Medical Center is holding a ceremony Tuesday morning, to celebrate the demolition of the former "Cathedral Hill Hotel."

A new, state-of-the-art, seismically safe hospital will take the hotel's place near the corner of Van Ness and Geary avenues.

Construction on the new hospital is scheduled to start in June and it should be ready to open in 2019.
