Wrestling, burlesque and a strange brand of humor collide all in honor of Cinco de Mayo.

Lucha Va Voom will put luchadores, strippers and comedians all in a ring in the Fillmore, 1805 Geary Blvd., in San Francisco on Friday at 9 p.m.

The show goes to bizarre lengths to entertain its crowds and they have gotten love in Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone and on television stations across the country.

The show started in 2003 when a a burlesque dancer and a fan of Mexican wrestling joined forces. The rest is history. They have taken their show to Los Angeles, Chicago and the Bay Area before.

The world's first and only Mexican-style Lucha Libre and burlesque extravaganza, claims to feature the biggest names in Mexican-style lucha libre fighters going at it no-holds-barred style alongside dueling midgets,  burlesque dancers and Spanish beats from the 50s and 60s.

"(They) are amazing athletes, agile and acrobatic," Rita D’Albert, a burlesque dancer and co-founder of the show, told the Ventura County Star in January. "And it’s more about the fantasy. The wrestler has to say everything with his body language, not by yelling into a microphone.”

The show is not necesarily family friendly but it still has something for everyone who enjoys booze and a walk on the wild side. Tickets are still available from Live Nation.
