Concord Strip Mall Fire Believed Fireworks-Related

Fire crews in Concord investigate a strip mall fire.

A fire at a Concord strip mall on Meadow Lane is believed to be fireworks-related, according to investigators.

A witness reported seeing a bottle rocket land on top of a storage unit around midnight Saturday morning.

Fire officials said that storage unit was soon engulfed in flames and destroyed.

Investigators said the fire could have been very big if not for the quick action taken by fire teams who happened to be nearby dealing with a brush fire.

No arrests have been made, and the official cause of the fire is still under investigation.
