Construction work has several lanes closed on the Golden Gate Bridge Saturday.
Workers are preparing the span for a new movable median barrier. Saturday's lane closures had traffic backed up in both directions.
The prep work is helping the bridge get ready for placement of the new steel and concrete barrier and the truck that moves it.
The work is expected to be done by Sunday morning.
The barrier installation will have the bridge closed for one weekend, starting Jan. 10.
