Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office Search for Car Linked to Skating Rink Homicide

Authorities are asking for the public's help in locating a car linked to suspects in a triple shooting earlier this month at the Contra Costa County fairgrounds that left an Oakland woman dead and two men injured.

The vehicle is described as a two-door 1999 gold Toyota Solara with a rear spoiler and California license plate 5JLM717, according to Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jimmy Lee.

Lee said investigators believe the car and its occupants may have ties to San Joaquin County or Oakland.

The car is believed to be related to a Sept. 8 triple shooting at the Paradise Skate Roller Rink at the fairgrounds located at 1201 W. 10th St. in unincorporated Antioch. The shooting killed 31-year-old Amber Abangan and left two men wounded.

Witnesses described a fight that broke out at the "Adult Late Night Skate Jam" the night of Sept. 8 and later, the appearance of a suspect with a gun leading up to the killing, sheriff's officials said.

Abangan was taken to Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch were she died from her injuries.

The two men struck by the gunfire were treated for non-lethal injuries at a hospital and released.

The homicide remains under investigation and anyone with
information about the case is asked to call the sheriff's office at 925-313-2648. Tips can also be left anonymously at 866-846-3592 or via email at tips@so.cccounty.us.
