Contractor Says Trailer Stolen From San Jose Driveway During Kitchen Remodel Job

A South Bay man said he is hoping surveillance video will help bring thieves to justice after it shows his construction trailer and livelihood being driven away.

It happened on McCarthur Avenue near Bascom Avenue in San Jose where general contractor George Bravo said he was working on a kitchen remodel job. That's when someone stole his trailer right off the driveway, Bravo said.

He said surveillance video taken by cameras at a nearby car dealership show the suspects driving off with what appears to be the stolen trailer. Bravo said inside that truck was $65,000 worth of construction equipment--and his livelihood.

"We'd been there parked since March 26th, and so we really think somebody was casing it," Bravo said.

Bravo said he reported the crime to sheriff's deputies who told him they had seen several similar crimes recently. The trailer was stolen early in the morning on May 7.
