All lanes have reopened after a big-rig accident spilled live crabs on state Highway 92 near Half Moon Bay Friday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Both directions of traffic had been closed temporarily around 11 p.m. after a truck lost its load near Pilarcitos Creek Road at 10:43 p.m.

All lanes reopened at 2 a.m. this morning, the CHP said.

After the accident, which appears to have involved another vehicle, crabs were reported all over the roadway, according to the CHP.

A telephone pole was hit in the crash, the CHP said.
