Crews Clear Out Homeless Encampment in San Jose

San Jose crews raided a homeless encampment early Saturday morning.

Crews arrived at about 6 a.m. to clear out inhabitants' belongings.

This move comes about seven months after the city cleared out "The Jungle," one of the United State's largest homeless camps. Unfortunately, many inhabitants, having no where else to go, relocated to a site near Story Road.

Robert Aguirre, who considers himself the unofficial mayor of the encampment, says "people don't want to live in this kind of filth."

"If you were here earlier, you would have seen that the trash was moved over to one area, away from everybody, with the hopes that the city would come and clean that up ... but they don't," he said.
