Crocker-Amazon “Devastated” By Shooting Death of Local 49ers Fan

The 49ers fan shot and killed early Monday was well-loved.

The victim of a fatal shooting early Monday in San Francisco's Crocker-Amazon neighborhood was a 49ers fan shot and killed while celebrating the team's berth in the Super Bowl.

Daniel Colon, 43, was killed and his cousin seriously wounded on the 1100 block of Naples Street near Geneva Avenue at 12:03 a.m. on Monday, according to the San Francisco Examiner. They were leaving a local bar, where they had celebrated the 49ers' win in the NFC Championship game, according to the newspaper.

The game had ended some eight hours earlier.

Mourners visited a memorial at the crime scene for Colon. He was described as a caring and loyal family man who would fight with fists but never with weapons, the newspaper reported.

No motive has been announced. The shooter fled on foot.
