Cross-Dressing Peeping Tom Lurking on Cal Campus

    Cal campus police say a man dresses up as a woman, complete with a black wig, sneaks into the women's intramural locker room and uses a cell phone to snap pictures of the unsuspecting coeds.

    It embarrasing to accidentally walk into the wrong bathroom -- especially if you find yourself among the wrong gender.

    But there's a man cruising the UC Berkeley campus who has purpously put himself in that situation recently, according to police.

    Campus police say the man dresses up as a woman, complete with a black wig, sneaks into the women's intramural locker room and uses a cell phone to snap pictures of the unsuspecting coeds.

    It's happened twice in the past week. The first time was on Oct. 4. A janitor reported seeing a suspicious person in the recreational sports locker room using a cell phone, possibly taking pictures. When the janitor approached the person, he ran away, Cal police said.

    Then, on Oct. 6, a woman in the locker room reported seeing someone watching her as she changed clothes. When she confronted the person, he appeared to be a man wearing a woman's wig, according to campus cops. She said the man took off his wig but he escaped.

    The suspicious peeper is described as Hispanic or Indian, in his 20s, 5 foot 4 inches with a thin build and dark brown or black hair.
