    California DUI arrests were up higher this Fourth of July weekend compared to last year, according to the California Highway Patrol.

    CHP officers have arrested nearly 1,200 drivers around the state since Thursday evening, which is up 22 percent statewide from 2013.

    In Santa Clara County, authorities have made 33 DUI arrests.

    Police reported 13 DUI arrests in San Mateo County.
