A Peninsula park devastated nearly two years ago is finally back in business.
Daly City leaders Saturday helped celebrate the grand re-opening of Hillside Park, which has been closed since November 2012.
That is when a water main break triggered a mudslide that inundated the grounds.
Since that time, work has been done to beautify the park and strengthen the infrastructure.
"Today is your day," Mayor David Canepa said. "Today is a day of celebration. Today is a day of renewal."
Other changes include a new circular path, better lighting, and more benches and tables.
"And it's so nice you can't believe--it's beautiful," Daly City resident Rossaly de la Vega said.
