Man Killed in a Hit-and-Run Collision in San Jose

A man was killed in a hit-and-run collision early Saturday morning, San Jose police said.

According to a statement issued by the city's police department, the accident occurred at 6:14 a.m. on King Road, south of South Road. A citizen called 911 with a report of a man lying on the road.

San Jose police and fire departments responded but the man was pronounced dead at the scene, the statement added. This is the city's 29th traffic fatality of the year.

Police described the victim as a Hispanic man in his 60s. His wounds are "consistent with being run over by a vehicle," according to the statement.

Investigators do not currently have information about the suspect or suspect's vehicle, the statement said.
