San Jose homicide detectives are investigating the "suspicious death" of a man who was found shot dead in front of a San Jose home Sunday morning.

Police say they received reports of a possible dead body in front of a home on the 1900 block of Tripoli Avenue just before 8 a.m. When they arrived, the man, who police say was in his 30s and may have lived at or been related to people who lived at the home, was unconscious and not breathing. Emergency responders pronounced him dead minutes later.

Police say the homicide is the city's first of 2013.
