A Denver Broncos fan who said he dropped $30,000 on his Super Bowl weekend with his buddies –which didn't include his wife – is probably pretty happy with his investment.

NBC Bay Area couldn't immediately reach Justin Carrigan on Monday to find out his exact thoughts.

But Carrigan touched down at Norm Mineta San Jose International Airport on Friday ahead of the Big Game and admitted on camera how much money he shelled out on football, adding that whatever he spent would be worth it.

"Don't tell my wife," Carrigan said at the airport. "I gotta follow my team."

Carrigan said he spent $21,000 on a four-ticket "Broncos Tailgate Package" alone, and another $9,000 for the weekend he planned to spend in San Francisco and near Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., where his beloved team beat the Carolina Panthers 24 to 10.

Many media outlets including Yahoo Sports and FoxSports picked up what seemed to be an exclusive interview and joked about Kerrigan not inviting his wife and thinking he could keep the exorbitant pricetag a secret.

EDITOR'S NOTE: NBC Bay Area misspelled the name of Justin Carrigan in earlier reports.
