The aging motel in San Mateo County would become 180 condominiums under a demolition and construction plan from Barry Swenson Builder, according to the San Mateo Daily Journal.
BSB bought the motel -- and demolished its landmark "air traffic control" tower in 2001 -- with the idea of redevelopment, which has been on hold while the right project was sought, the newspaper reported. Meanwhile, the motel along Highway 101 has remained open.
The builder is seeking permits to build four buildings and a 364-space underground parking garage.
