The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.2 struck this morning near Gilroy.
According to the USGS, earthquake struck at about 7:15 a.m. and had a depth of 3.2 miles.
The quake was centered about 7 miles north-northwest of Hollister and about 9 miles east-southeast of Gilroy, according to the USGS.
There were no calls into our newsroom from people with questions about the quake.
