Don't Mind The Gunfire, New TV Show Filming In SF

You could hear gunshots in a San Francisco neighborhood today, but don't worry, it's all an act. The new television series "Alcatraz" is filming in the Russian Hill area this afternoon.

Crews will be shooting at Filbert Street between Hyde and Leavenworth. That area will be closed all of Monday for the shoot. Actual filming will begin around noon and end around 7 p.m. There's some gunfire involved, so don't be alarmed if you hear shots fired.

Alcatraz is a new show by producer J.J. Abrams. The movie follows a cop and team of FBI agents trying to track down a group of missing Alcatraz prisoners and guards who reappear in the present day. Actor Sam Neill (Jurassic Park) is expected to star alongside Jorge Garcia (Hurley from Lost), Robert Forster (Heroes), Parminder Nagra (ER) and Santiago Cabrera (Heroes).

The "Alcatraz" pilot is expected to air this fall.
