Sara Cole is charged with having sex with a minor
A Los Gatos mother of four turned herself in to police Wednesday on charges she had sex with a minor.
The suspect is well-known because she was the victim of a highly publicized drunk driving crash back in 2007. Sara Cole, 47, had her legs crushed while unloading a bike from her SUV.
Now Cole faces serious charges after the parents of the alleged victim brought concerns to police.
Los Gatos police say the arrest follows a two-month investigation.
"The information came to us from the victim's parents. We have been investigating the case for a couple months now. We did serve a search warrant at Ms. Cole's house a few weeks ago. She self surrendered tonight with her attorney," Los Gatos police officer Alana Forrest said.
Police said Cole was interviewed last week. They also served a search warrant at her home where investigators seized equipment and phones.
Cole was booked on three counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.
Police are not releasing any information about the victim.
