Early Morning Fire in East Bay Likely Caused by Old Building

An office building in Berkeley went up in smoke early Saturday morning.

Just after 8 a.m., a neighbor reported seeing smoke seeping of of a second story window on Telegraph Avenue, close to the Oakland border.

Firefighters arrived and put the fire out, but not before the empty building was badly burned.

Firefighters say the fire doesn't look suspicious. The house was built in the early 1900s, and its wiring and structure are old.
