A homeowner in the East Bay is hoping someone on social media can help him catch an alleged package thief.

He posted this surveillance video on YouTube yesterday.

According to his description, the woman in the video, who was walking her dog, grabbed his Amazon package Friday afternoon.

Fremont police said the user filed a police report online, and investigators said they plan on following up on Monday.

The YouTube user said the package had books for his kid.

"To the lady who took our package, please return the books by noon Sunday, so my kid can study," he wrote on Facebook. "And promise not to do it again."
