Emeryville Woman, 18, Fatally Shot

An 18-year-old woman was found Monday fatally shot inside a home, making her the city's first homicide this year.

Police Sgt. Joel V. Hannon said someone called dispatch about 3:30 p.m. to report that a person in the 1000 block of 47th Street had been shot. When police arrived, they found the 18-year-old had suffered a gunshot wound to her upper torso.

Crews took her to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
