Santa Clara County sheriff's deputies have arrested the brother of an escaped inmate for assisting Johnell Carter as an accessory after the fact.
Sgt. James Jensen said on Thursday that detectives arrested Joseph Carter in Lodi after his brother escaped from jail custody at Valley Medical Center on March 6.
Deputies don't believer Johnell Carter is in the greater San Jose area.
A $6,000 reward is being offered leading the capture and arrest of Johnell Carter, a 40-year-old accused sex offender who fought with a deputy and injured him.
