Facebook to Launch Menlo Park Farmers Market

A social media giant is unveiling a plan to improve local eating.

Facebook will debut a weekly farmers market in the parking lot of the company's Menlo Park campus (1 Hacker Way) on Oct. 4.

The market will include fresh produce (including organic selections and specialty Asian produce), a children's play area, bike tune-ups, cooking demos and a rotation of food trucks. Street food vendors scheduled for opening day include lobster roll and seafood truck Sam's Chowder Mobile, Indian food purveyor Curry Up Now and Waffle Roost, which serves chicken and waffles.

It will be held every Sunday, year-round, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
