‘I Want Justice for My Mom': Family of Mother Shot, Killed in San Francisco's Bayview District Seek Help Finding Suspect

The family of a 33-year-old mother shot and killed in San Francisco's Bayview neighborhood are asking for the public's help in finding a suspect.

The shooting happened in January and at the time was described by some as a running gun battle between the occupants of an SUV and a Dodge pickup.

Maria Lourdes Sosa was in her yard when the cars drove by.

"When the firing occurred she was out front with her children and she was running to protect her children when this happened," father Jose Sosa said.

Police over the weekend released video of the suspected shooter's black Dodge pickup truck. The bullet-ridden vehicle was recovered in the neighborhood with a second victim, 32-year-old Dante Glen shot to death inside.

"I know there are people out there who know who is responsible for this crime, so I'm asking the public as well as the family to come forward with that information," San Francisco Police Sgt. Chris Canning said.

Canning would not say if there is a person of interest, When asked if the occupants of the truck and SUV were documented gang members, Canning said he did not have any evidence.

"I just want to find that person, whoever shot my mom," daughter Brianna Sosa said. "I want justice for my mom."
