Fat Tuesday Slim in San Jose

Mardi Gras partiers in San Jose have an escort. The police this Fat Tuesday.

Police are keeping a close eye on downtown San Jose along Santa Clara.

The department is enforcing temporary no parking rules and tow truck drivers are having a busy night.

Police say past Fat Tuesday celebrations have gotten out of hand and cars were damaged.

Justim Triano looked like he was ready to celebrate, wearing a Mardi Gras scarf, but says the police presence has him thinking about going home. There is no organized event in San Jose. But there have been rowdy crowds and arrests in years past.
