    San Mateo County voters can cast their ballot at a few select polling locations on the Saturday prior to Election Day. (November 4, 2016)

    By law, elections are held the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, but it can be difficult for many people to get out to the polls on a weekday. 

    Whether you have to work or just want to avoid Election Day lines, check out where you can cast your ballot this weekend in counties across the Bay Area:

    Alameda County

    You can vote in person on Saturday or Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Alameda County Registrar of Voters Office, 1225 Fallon Street, Room G-1 Oakland, CA 94612. For more information on voting early in Alameda County, see the elections website. 

    Contra Costa County

    You can vote in person on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at any of the following locations:

    • Golden Hills Community Church, 2401 Shady Willow Ln. Brentwood, CA 94513
    • Pittsburg Library Community Room, 80 Power Ave. Pittsburg, CA 94565
    • The Salvation Army Church, 3950 Clayton Rd. Concord, CA 94521
    • Elections Office, 555 Escobar St. Martinez, CA 94553
    • Lafayette Library and Learning Ctr., 3491 Mt. Diablo Blvd. Lafayette, CA 94549

    San Mateo County

    You can vote in person on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at any of the following locations: 

    • San Mateo County Elections Office, 40 Tower Road, San Mateo, CA 94402
    • Office of the Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder, 555 County Center, 1st Floor, Redwood City, CA 94063
    • South San Francisco Public Library, 840 West Orange Ave., South San Francisco 94080

    Marin County

    The Marin County elections office, 3501 Civic Center Drive Suite 121 San Rafael, CA 94903 is not open for in-person voting over the weekend, but will be open on Monday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information about voting early in Marin County, see the elections website.

    Napa County

    The Napa County elections office, 900 Coombs St, Ste. 256 Napa, CA 94559, is not open for in-person voting over the weekend, but will be open on Monday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information about your polling place in Napa County, see the elections website.

    Santa Clara County

    You can vote in person on Saturday or Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters Office,1555 Berger Drive, Building 2, San Jose. The following polling stations are also open on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. for in-person voting: 

    • Rinconada Library, 1213 Newell Road, Palo Alto
    • Wheeler Community Room, 250 W. Sixth Street, Gilroy
    • Santa Clara City Library, 2635 Homestead Road, Santa Clara
    • Joyce Ellington Branch Library, 491 E. Empire Street, San Jose
    • San Jose Public Library-Education Branch, 1772 Educational Park Drive, San Jose

    San Francisco County

    Solano County
