Fire Crews Extinguish 4-Alarm Blaze in Oakland

Oakland firefighters extinguished a four-alarm blaze on Redding Street, near Mills College, late Thursday.

The fire started at about 7 p.m. at a two-story home. Officials said flames spread to nearby buildings and trees, and even brought down power lines.

The destructive fire took firefighters nearly two hours to contain.

No injuries were reported in the blaze.

A cause of the fire is under investigation.
