Alameda County fire crews extinguished a fire that started on the roof of a Krispy Kreme Donuts in Union City on Tuesday night, fire officials said.
Firefighters responded to the fire on the roof of the restaurant located at 32450 Dyer Street around 9:13 p.m. Fire officials said the fire was contained to a part of the wall on the roof.
All employees at the restaurant were able to exit safely before fire crews arrived on the scene.
A restaurant employee reported the fire. Nobody was injured in the blaze that caused moderate damage and didn't spread to other buildings, fire officials said. The cause is under investigation.
The Union City Krispy Kreme location will be closed temporarily.
