Firefighters Respond to 6-Alarm Grass Fire Near Vacaville

Crews are responding to a 6-alarm fire that broke out around 11 a.m. near Vacaville.

At 4:30 p.m., Cal Fire reported the blaze had grown to 150 acres and was 25 percent contained.

The fire is at Mix Canyon Road and Sky Ranch Lane in rural unincorporated Solano County.

Cal Fire reported that the fire is threatening 10 structures and that evacuations are in place.

Cal Fire Capt. Joe Fletcher said firefighters from Vacaville, Dixon, Fairfield, Suisun City and Cal Fire also responded. Four air tankers and two helicopters, six engines and two inmate crews have responded to the blaze, Fletcher said.

Firefighters on Sunday knocked down a 4-alarm fire that started on July 4 and threatened Vacaville homes and scorched 300 acres.
