Solano County Flash Flood Warning Issued for Rockville, Green Valley and Cordelia Areas

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for the Rockville, Green Valley and Cordelia areas in Solano County.

The warning, issued at 5:49 p.m. and set to expire at 8:45 p.m., was issued after thunderstorms brought 2 to 3 inches of rain in a period of around three hours, according to the weather service.

Trained weather spotters reported flash flooding from thunderstorms in the Rockville and Green Valley areas, weather service officials said in an alert.

Rockville Road was reported as flooded and Suisun Creek and Green Valley Creek were expected to flood, officials said. Rockslides are also possible.

Residents are warned not to underestimate the power of even a few inches of flood waters, as they can still carry away a vehicle. Drivers should avoid driving through flooded areas and move to higher ground.
