Ross Levinsohn, former interim CEO of Yahoo, has left the company two weeks after it hired new CEO Marissa Mayer.
It would have been a coup for Yahoo to on-board new CEO Marissa Mayer and retain the interim CEO she replaced, Ross Levinsohn. There was no coup.
Levinsohn has left the company after acting as CEO when Scott Thompson got the boot for a resume-credential scandal, according to All Things D.
Before Mayer was hired, however, many in the Valley thought Levinsohn was going to get the gig. When he didn't, he left town quietly for Los Angeles, many thought to give Mayer the full spotlight and to regroup.
There are no reports as to what Levinsohn plans to do next.
