Fremont Kaiser Kicks Off Flu Shot Campaign

Kaiser kicked off this season's flu shot campaign in Fremont .

Thousands of people showed up to get the vaccine Saturday. Many used the drive-through clinic to get their shots.

People who were at Kaiser to get the shots said they appreciate the convenience.

"It's much easier," Annie Andreotti said. "Mom doesn't have to get out. You don't have to get her in a wheelchair, put the wheelchair in and out. I think we're holding up the line, and they want us to move. Other people are waiting so they don't have to get out."

The Centers for Disease Control recommended a yearly flu vaccine for everyone six months of age and older.

Doctors said seasonal flu activity can begin as early as October.
