Frjtz Uses Pepper Spraying Cop To Sell New Hot Sauce

French fry shop using political imagery to illustrate sauce hotness.

It's not just the hot sauce that's hot at Frjtz -- it's the controversy!

The upscale french fry-shop's Valencia Street location has a "new Meyer Lemon Hot Sauce," and is using the imagery from last year's pepper-spraying incident at UC Davis to illustrate just how hot the sauce is, according to SF Weekly.

The image is the familiar figure of former UC Davis police Lt. John Pike, whose casual discharge of pepper spray into the faces of student protesters ultimately earned him a dismissal from the police force -- but not before he became a worldwide meme, the newspaper reported.

This is not the first time Frjtz has slapped Pike's spraying image on hot sauce. It also did so at its Hayes Valley location in March.

Some say the use of pepper spraying imagery is tasteless. Others think it's hot! Twitter is full of both.
