San Francisco Mayor raising millions in bid for governor

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom's exploratory campaign for governor has already raised millions of dollars in the six months since its inception.
New numbers from the Secretary of State Debra Bowen's office show Newsom raised nearly $1.2 Million dollars in donations for his exploratory campaign.It came from more than one thousand contributions over the past six months.
Newsom's campaign also spent about $640,000 through the end of last year.
He has until march 2010 to officially file in the race.
