George Lucas Has Written 50 Hours of Star Wars TV

Quake in fear, Star Wars fans: George Lucas has been hard at work penning a new live-action Star Wars TV series, and he apparently already has a whopping 50 hours done so far. I assume 45 hours of that involve Jar Jar Binks leading debates in the galactic senate.

In reality, the show will take place between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Lucas is waiting until movie-making tech has gotten a bit better before he commits to shooting, however. But writing pages upon pages of script for the show requires no fancy tech, hence the 50 hours down so far.

We'll see how long it takes for special effects tech to make shooting all this stuff cost-effective. Depending on your opinion of latter-day Lucas, the long delay may be a blessing in disguise.

You can see the original interview with Lucas over on G4's Attack of the Show.
