Gilroy Man Injured in Shooting

A 22-year-old man was hospitalized after being seriously wounded  in a shooting in Gilroy early this morning, police said.

Officers responded around 12:15 a.m. to a report of a person  injured in a shooting at an apartment complex at 8195 Westwood Drive in  Gilroy, police said.

Police arriving on the scene discovered that the victim has  already been driven to a hospital. Officers located evidence of a shooting at  the apartment complex, police said.

Police located the shooting victim, whose name has not been  released, being treated for multiple gunshot wounds at a local hospital. He  was later transported to a Bay Area trauma center where his condition was not  known as of 6 a.m.

An investigation into the shooting is underway.
