Police have arrested 21-year-old Ernesto Rodriguez, the suspect in the murder of a woman found dead at a Gilroy home on Wednesday evening.
Officers responded to a home in the 8100 block of Kelton Drive at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday after a family returned home and found a 21-year-old woman dead in a bedroom, according to police.
The family noticed their son, 21-year-old Ernesto Rodriguez, was missing from the home.
The woman, who police identified as Alma Roque Ortega, does not live with Rodriguez. Police said Rodriguez was restrained from contacting Ortega by a restraining order issued to him from San Benito County in January.
Police believe Rodriguez is a suspect in Ortega's death.
Rodriguez was arrested Thursday morning without incident.
