Runners Treated to Race Over Golden Gate Bridge During Half Marathon

Eyes from around the world were focused on the renowned New York City Marathon Sunday, but runners in San Francisco decided to have a race of their own.

Jogging along the Golden Gate Bridge, slicing through the Presidio and scampering along the waterfront, runners of all ages turned out to enjoy the city by the bay's Golden Gate Half Marathon race.

A total of 4,202 athletes completed the race in an average time of 2:21.34, according to event results. Adam Coy led all male competitors with a time of 1:20.29 while Dina Kitayama was the first woman to cross the finish line first at 1:25.41.
